Welcome to, Far Up! Far Out! Far More!, a website devoted to the world's favourite 'secret' agent, James Bond OO7 of Her Majesty's Secret Service. While the accent of the site is on the 1969 Bond epic (Diana Rigg's own description), On Her Majesty's Secret Service, aspects of the wider world of OO7 can be found within these pages. Far Up! Far Out! Far More! is host to the infamous Never Say McClory Again (the Eon-ised version of the 1983 'renegade' OO7 film, Never Say Never Again) project; and is also the home of the fab double-O four, The Bondles - a musical combo from an alternate universe where the worlds of the Beatles and James Bond collide with amusing or bizarre (although probably not quite as 'bizarre' as entering a restricted area of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in Perth, Western Australia wearing a paper-bag over ones head) result.

Over the years On Her Majestys Secret Service has been given the bum's rush by its parent company(s); both owners and distributors appear to regard OHMSS as 'the runt of the litter' only grudgingly admitting under that it is actually part of the Bond film canon. Until such times as the Producers of the OO7 film series accept what the majority of the fanbase already know, i.e. that OHMSS is actually one of the most exciting OO7 films in the Eon-produced series, it is up to fan's like myself to fly the flag for this 'different' Bond.

Fierce debate, fisticuffs and the occasional duel at dawn have characterised the interchange of fan opinion regards the best 'Bond' (be it film or actor). From the evidence of ohmss-related threads in fan forums, it has readily apparent that OHMSS is considered among the top 3 all-time favourite Bond films and that the film's star, George Lazenby, doesn't fare too badly in the OO7 popularity stakes either, regularly placed fourth behind Connery, Moore and Brosnan - although the more years that pass since the end of the Roger Moore era, Lazenby may well be taking the bronze by decade's end.

The high regard in which OHMSS and George Lazenby are currently held within fandom is in extreme contrast to that which existed prior to the advent of domestic video systems. Until home video allowed OO7 fans to access OHMSS at will, opinion regarding the film's actual worth was essentially based on largely negative word-of-mouth reputation, the source of which can be traced to reports of on-set 'star' troubles and a slew of contemporary reviews carried by influential media, in which both film and star were generally and mercilessly slagged. The failure of the critical media to objectively view the "different Bond" has left the greater majority of fans wondering why such an excellent film was given such a hiding in the first place and, more importantly, why such a grossly false perception festered for over thirty years.

On Her Majestys Secret Service is far up, far out and far more than the piece of celluloid excrement the critics, EON-MGM/UA and the thou shalt have no other Bond but Sean before thee fans would have us believe; and Lazenby is definitely not, as the favoured cliche of the unoriginal put it, the poor man's James Bond. Lazenby actually played James Bond, agent 007 of Her Majestys Secret Service - a role which multitude's of profile actors have lobbied over the years.

The lack of courage of the Producers to acknowledge their responsibilities for OHMSS' lack of - and let's be clear about this -  relative financial success coupled with the shameful way they eagerly hid behind the "it was all Lazenby's fault" smokescreen, is a much more disagreeable aspect of the history of OHMSS, than the egoisitic antics of the inexperienced actor who played the worlds most famous 'secret' agent.

The aim of this website is to raise the profile of On Her Majestys Secret Service, to contribute to it's re-appraisal in the realistic hope that it will take its rightful place among the handful of excellent OO7 films produced to date. This site will hopefully entertain and, on the rare occasion, inform.

Additional to the OHMSS pages, several sections of a more general OO7 flavour are scattered about the server.

I am always appreciative of feedback about this website. About the only comments I ignore are ones that have a go at my crude grasp of html. I make no apologies for the lack of an award-winning page layout; My style is not flash and I don't much go for shock value either so it's pretty boring 'round these parts with only information, entertainment and the occasional chuckle on offer.
